Jaquay Washington is a licensed therapist, clinical supervisor, and published author with a deep commitment to holistic, trauma-informed care. She holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and advanced certifications in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT).
With over 15 years of experience, Jaquay has worked across a wide range of mental health settings, from residential treatment and community-based programs to leadership in therapeutic foster care, group homes, and substance use services. She has held key roles including Chief Clinical Practices Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Director of Clinical Services, and Treatment Director, overseeing clinical operations, program development, compliance, and multidisciplinary teams serving at-risk youth and families. Jaquay also offers clinical supervision as a service, supporting LPC Associates and early-career therapists in building culturally responsive and ethically grounded practices. Her expertise is rooted in a deep understanding of complex trauma, attachment challenges, and the systemic barriers that impact access to care. She partners with organizations such as Lyra Health to deliver mental health services through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) in both corporate and nonprofit environments.
As an extension of her mission to empower others, Jaquay founded A Chance to Believe, LLC, a private practice offering trauma-informed mental health services to individuals and families. She is also the author of her debut book, A Chance to Believe: How to Make Your Past a Place of Reference, Not Residency—a compelling and compassionate guide that blends clinical insight with personal experience to inspire healing, growth, and hope.
